WHAT DOES THE E-COLLAR FEEL LIKE?
Despite often being referred to as a "shock collar", the e-collars we use do not "shock", like when you feel a jolt of static electricity. The sensation from an e-collar is actually much more blunt. E-collars actually have the same technology as a TENS unit commonly used for muscle pain. At the beginning of training owners are always invited to feel the e-collar stimulation and they are ALWAYS surprised how underwhelming it is. I personally would describe the sensation similar to the tingly feeling when your arm or leg falls asleep, I would not describe it as being painful. The e-collars we use and provide are of professional quality and have 100 different levels of stimulation so we can find the appropriate level for each individual dog. This gives us a wide range of stimulation going from extremely soft to more intense. A high quality e-collar is extremely crucial because all dogs are different and we need to adjust accordingly.
WILL THIS TRAINING CHANGE MY DOG'S PERSONALITY?
No. While your dog's behavior will change, they will still be who they are, but now they will have the ability to listen and be calm on command.
IS MY DOG TOO OLD/SET IN THEIR WAYS FOR TRAINING?
As long as your dog has been deemed healthy by a veterinarian and is able to go for walks and exercise comfortably, they are good to go! There is not an age limit on training. While they may be set in their ways for now, old dogs can indeed learn new tricks so to speak.
HOW LONG BEFORE WE CAN START TRAINING?
Wait times vary depending on how booked I am, so the sooner you can fill out an application and get on the schedule the better. I do regularly have a waitlist, so again, the sooner you apply for training the sooner you can get on the schedule. The minimum wait time is 2 weeks to allow time to get your new training gear together and for you to study the training guide and start making changes in the home.
I HAVE MULTIPLE DOGS, CAN WE TRAIN THEM AT THE SAME TIME?
It really depends on what you can handle. Each dog will get their own session so we will focus on them one at a time, but you do have the option of stacking their sessions back to back. Most owners do find it easier to start training with one dog, and once finished begin training sessions with the other dog.
I ALREADY HAVE AN E-COLLAR, CAN I USE MY OWN?
We only use high quality professional e-collars, so as long as you have a high quality e-collar, yes. This will be deducted from the price of your package. If you have a cheaply made e-collar, then no. An E-Collar will be included in your package.
WHEN SHOULD DOG TRAINING BEGIN?
Ideally, a dog should begin training as soon as possible to ensure the best possible outcome for years ahead. We like to start training puppies as early as 5 months old, but we can certainly train a dog older than that. As long as a dog is in good health, no dog is too old for training. We cover all things puppy training tips and crate training for puppies so if you are first time puppy training, there's no need to stress. If you're not sure how to train an older dog this is something we also can help with.
CAN DOG TRAINING HELP WITH ANXIETY AND AGGRESSION?
YES! The best thing you can do for a dog with intense anxiety or aggression is get them proper dog training to help them live a more balanced, structured, and safer life. E-Collar dog training is hands down the best dog training for anxious dogs.
WHAT'S THE BEST DOG TRAINING COLLAR?
We only use and recommend E-Collar Technologies for high quality e-collars. These are much different than the cheap collars off of Amazon. We include a high quality e-collar in all of our packages.
HOW LONG DOES DOG TRAINING TAKE?
Our dog training lessons are spaced about a week apart so it takes roughly 7-8 weeks to finish training, but you will see results within the first lesson. Typically by the third lesson your dog will know all of their basic obedience.
CAN YOU HELP ME?
If you are 100% completely on board to making any recommended changes and putting in the work, YES! If you are looking for someone to come train your dog for an hour , leave, and then you don't put in the work and expect results, no. You will get out of this what you put in.
